New findings from the U-M National Poll on Healthy Aging and Michigan Poll on Healthy Aging, conducted by IHPI, show that most adults age 65 and older drive regularly: 84% drive at least once a week and 62% drive most days. However, less than half of older drivers have a plan for when they are no longer able to drive. While 81% feel very confident in their current ability to drive safely, only 43% feel very confident about driving safely five years from now. U-M Transportation Research Institute experts who worked on the poll have developed guides with the state of Michigan to help with planning.
