From Wednesday, July 16, through Saturday, July 19, artisans from all over the world will display their wares in downtown Ann Arbor at four official fairs. The Alumni Association makes the occasion a little bit sweeter with the fifth annual Ice Cream Social. From 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, we'll have free Stucchi's ice cream for U-M students and Alumni Association members at the Alumni Center, located at 200 Fletcher St. in Ann Arbor. All you have to bring is your student ID. Make plans now to join us for fun.

Special Opportunities

Keep in touch with friends during the summer with inCircle. Log on to inCircle, the Alumni Association's social networking site, and start putting the power of the Michigan community to work for you. Think Facebook just for Wolverines with the bonus of knowing that it's a secure environment (people are who they say they are)! You can use it not only to talk to your friends, find people who share your interests or create a group for your student group or friends, but also to get an internship or job by networking with the vast U-M alumni family—more than 460,000 strong. All you need to get started are your uniqname and password. Check it out today!

Career

Summer's a good time to explore your career options with the Alumni Association’s free career services for students. They’re easy to access and can help you build connections and figure out what you want to do.

  • Alumni NetWorks puts you in touch with alumni who have volunteered to provide career coaching.
  • Wolverine Occupational Resource Center (WORC) includes a self-assessment inventory, networking, resume and interview tips, and resources typically only available to executive search firms.
  • Use inCircle, our online directory of all U-M alumni and students, to make professional connections and look for jobs.

More than 800 students stop by every week for free Starbucks coffee, bagels, newspapers and WI-FI. Stay for five minutes or five hours—it's up to you. But be sure to learn about the programs the Association offers, like career mentors, inCircle (the U-M social networking site) and free business cards. Or pick up a free blue book for your next exam.
