Campus Messages of Support
Schools and colleges across the campus are mobilizing their efforts and offering their condolences. At the School of Public Health, Dean Ken Warner sent a message to the school's students, faculty and staff:
"The earthquake that occurred in Sichuan, China, has caused an enormous loss of life and great suffering for the people of China. I was in China (in Tianjin, near Beijing) at the time of the quake and saw first-hand the consternation it created among the Chinese people hundreds of miles away.

One of our faculty told me he was speaking on the phone with his parents in Sichuan at the exact moment the quake occurred. I can’t begin to imagine the horror he felt at the time. While his parents stayed outside of their home for two days, they have now returned and find the home in good shape. That is one of the more fortunate outcomes of this devastating event.

Our hearts go out to our friends and family in China."

Dean Warner's message concluded with information about how to assist through international agencies.
